每逢弘前公园樱花盛开之际，内护城河便化身为一条梦幻水道——飘落的樱花花瓣在水面铺叠成厚厚的粉色花毯，日语称之为"花筏"（hanaikada）。在此租一艘手划船，从2,600棵垂枝樱树下轻轻滑过，被众多日本人和旅行者奉为全日本最不可错过的赏花体验之一。古朴的城楼、石砌城墙与漫天樱花相互映衬，构成无数令人叹为观止的绝美画面。花期期间，公园船屋每日开放租船服务，先到先得，无需预约。
