Yonago Castle Ruins Cherry Blossom Viewing

Yonago · Tottori · Chugoku

Yonago Castle Ruins sit atop Iinoyama Hill overlooking the city and Nakaumi Lagoon, making them one of Tottori Prefecture's most scenic hanami viewpoints. The hilltop is ringed with cherry trees that bloom in late March to early April, and the remaining multi-tiered stone walls are photogenic in their own right. From the summit, visitors enjoy sweeping views over Yonago city, the Japan Sea coastline, and the snow-streaked cone of Mt. Daisen to the north—a backdrop that makes cherry blossom photography here exceptional. Evening strolls through the lower Shiro-mae Park area, also lined with sakura, are especially atmospheric.
