The Urasoe Hanabi Taikai is held each July at the Urasoe Marine Park on Okinawa's central west coast, drawing families and young couples from across the main island. Over 3,000 shells are fired from seaside launch platforms, with shells reflected in the calm waters of the East China Sea. The surrounding park area hosts food vendors, live music stages and craft stalls during the day before the evening display. Urasoe's central location between Naha and Ginowan makes it one of the most conveniently accessed fireworks events on the island.
