Omogo Valley (Omogo Keikoku), set within the Ishizuchi Quasi-National Park near the base of Mount Ishizuchi, is one of Ehime's most spectacular and least-commercialised autumn foliage destinations. The valley's sheer granite walls and crystal-clear stream are framed by dense maple, beech, and rowan forests that blaze scarlet and gold from mid-October. A paved nature trail follows the river through the gorge, passing waterfalls, suspension bridges, and dramatic rock formations. The area sees peak colour approximately two weeks earlier than lowland spots, making it ideal for early-season koyo seekers.
