Held each October at Tosa Tosho-gu Shrine in Kochi City, this solemn festival honours the Yamanouchi clan lords of the Tosa domain. Participants dressed in full Edo-period samurai regalia carry ornate portable shrines through the neighbourhood in a stately retinue procession. Gagaku court music fills the air as priests perform ritual dances dating back over 300 years. It offers visitors a rare window into the feudal heritage of the Tosa region.
