Hoshino Resort Tomamu Ice Village

Shimukappu · Hokkaido · Hokkaido

Hoshino Resort Tomamu's Ice Village is a temporary town constructed entirely from ice and snow each winter on the resort grounds, featuring over a dozen themed ice structures including an ice bar serving cocktails in ice glasses, an illuminated ice chapel for weddings, a natural hot spring bath surrounded by ice walls, and igloo-style guest accommodation. Every building is individually designed and lit from within, creating a soft glowing settlement that looks like a scene from a fairy tale. The resort's high snowfall and consistent sub-zero temperatures ensure the structures last the full season, with new design themes introduced each year. Guests can also take icy canoe rides on a frozen lake by torchlight.
