Okinawa World's annual winter lantern festival transforms the 890-metre Gyokusendo Cave — one of Asia's largest stalactite caves — into a glowing wonderland. Thousands of individually decorated lanterns are placed throughout the cave and the surrounding Okinawa World park grounds, creating warm reflections on limestone formations and underground pools. The event draws on Ryukyuan artistic motifs including shisa lions, hibiscus, and traditional bingata textile patterns. Evening outdoor zones feature live sanshin music, traditional dance, and regional food markets.
