Ichinomiya Kisogawa Fireworks Festival (Ichinomiya Kisogawa Hanabi Taikai)

Ichinomiya · Aichi · Chubu

The Ichinomiya Kisogawa Fireworks Festival is held on the banks of the Kiso River, which forms the border between Aichi and Gifu prefectures, meaning spectators in two prefectures enjoy the show simultaneously. The event launches approximately 10,000 shells in an evening programme of about 90 minutes, highlighted by rapid-fire starmine sequences that paint the sky in layers of colour. It is one of the most popular summer events in northern Aichi and attracts visitors from across the Chukyo metropolitan area. Food stalls and yukata crowds fill the approach roads well before dusk.
