Okinawa Ryukyu Mura (Ryukyu Village)

Onna · Okinawa · Okinawa

Ryukyu Mura in Onna Village on Okinawa's west coast is a living cultural heritage park featuring eight authentic Ryukyuan traditional houses relocated from across the island, some over 100 years old. Visitors can watch and participate in Eisa drum dancing, Ryukyuan dyeing, awamori (local spirit) distillation, and weaving demonstrations by local craftspeople. The park also hosts daily traditional music and dance performances, including the stately court dance form known as Ryubu. It stands as one of the best introductions to Okinawa's culturally distinct heritage, separate from mainland Japanese traditions.
