The Nishi-Iya Valley boat cruise departs from Nishi-Iya near Miyoshi City, gliding beneath towering gorge walls draped in vivid autumn colour. Local boatmen navigate calm stretches of the Yoshino River while passengers photograph the reflection of scarlet maples in the turquoise water. The surrounding mountainsides peak in colour from late October through mid-November, making this one of the most visually dramatic koyo experiences in Shikoku. Warm amazake is sometimes served on board during cooler morning departures.
