Negishi Shinrin Park Cherry Blossom Season

Yokohama · Kanagawa · Kanto

Negishi Shinrin Park occupies the site of Japan's first Western-style horse-racing track, opened in 1866, and its forested hillside grounds are ringed by approximately 700 cherry trees that bloom in a tranquil woodland atmosphere. The park's undulating terrain and mature canopy give the blossom season an entirely different character from flat urban parks—more immersive and less crowded. A preserved grandstand from the original racetrack era lends the site historical intrigue alongside the natural beauty. Located in southern Yokohama, it pairs well with a trip to nearby Sankei-en Garden.
