Nago Central Park, perched on the hillside above Nago City, harbours an unusual mix of subtropical vegetation and introduced temperate species that produce modest but genuine koyo colour in December and January. The park is best known for its cherry blossoms in late January, but the preceding weeks bring russet and yellow tones to its broad-leaved trees. Sweeping views over Nago Bay and the East China Sea add a dramatic backdrop to any foliage walk. The park is easily accessible by bus from central Nago and is free to enter.
