The Mirasaka Cherry Blossom Road in Miyoshi City stretches for approximately 10 kilometres through the agricultural heartland of northern Hiroshima Prefecture, lined on both sides by a continuous canopy of cherry trees that number in the thousands. In 2018 it was selected as one of Japan's most scenic rural roads, and during peak bloom traffic is reduced so visitors can walk or cycle the full length beneath pink archways. Local farming communities set up roadside stalls selling mountain vegetables, homemade sake, and cherry blossom rice cakes. The unhurried, deeply rural atmosphere makes it a highlight for travellers seeking authentic countryside hanami far from urban crowds.
