The Meguro River Sakura Festival turns a 4-kilometre canal corridor into one of Tokyo's most photogenic and fashionable hanami destinations, with around 800 Somei Yoshino trees arching over the water. The riverbanks are flanked by Nakameguro's renowned independent cafés, wine bars, and designer boutiques, many of which create special sakura menus and pop-up stalls for the season. Evening lantern illuminations run nightly during peak bloom, casting a rose-gold glow across the water. The festival is self-guided, open 24 hours, and free to enjoy.
