The Komatsugawa Senbonzakura (Thousand Cherry Trees) Festival celebrates over 1,000 cherry trees planted along the Kyuedo River and surrounding Komatsugawa Park in Edogawa Ward, east Tokyo. The festival atmosphere is quintessentially local and down-to-earth, with yakitori stalls, sake tents, and community performances filling the riverside promenade. It is far less known to international tourists than central Tokyo spots, offering an authentic neighbourhood hanami experience. The flat, wide riverside path makes it accessible and comfortable for strollers and wheelchairs.
