The Shin-Kobe Ropeway ascends Mount Rokko to the Nunobiki Herb Garden, and in late March to early April the mountainside forest explodes with wild and planted cherry blossoms visible directly from the gondola. Passengers enjoy an aerial perspective of pink sakura canopy with Kobe's harbour and Osaka Bay glittering beyond—a combination unavailable anywhere else in the region. The herb garden itself features ornamental cherry plantings among its terraced beds. The ropeway operates extended hours during bloom season, including evening rides for yozakura views over the illuminated city.
