Kiyosumi Teien is a classic Japanese strolling garden completed in its current form in 1880 by Mitsubishi founder Iwasaki Yataro, featuring a large central pond adorned with stepping stones, rare stones collected from across Japan, and carefully placed cherry trees. During bloom season the weeping and Somei Yoshino cherries create elegant reflections in the pond's calm waters, framed by traditional stone lanterns and a teahouse. The intimate scale and carefully curated aesthetic make it one of Tokyo's most refined cherry blossom settings. Entry fees are nominal and crowds remain manageable compared to larger parks.
