Hanamiyama Park in Fukushima City is a unique hillside formed from privately owned farmland where local growers have planted hundreds of cherry, plum, forsythia, magnolia, and other flowering trees over generations. The result is a spectacular tapestry of pastel colours cascading down the slopes, best admired from the panoramic viewpoint at the summit. Shuttle buses run from Fukushima Station during peak bloom, and the surrounding flatlands offer Mt. Azuma as a snowy backdrop. The site is celebrated as one of the most colourful spring landscapes in all of Japan.
