Held annually on the last Saturday of July, the Edogawa Fireworks Festival draws over 1.3 million spectators to the banks of the Edogawa River on the border of Tokyo and Chiba. Approximately 14,000 fireworks are launched in under 90 minutes, with elaborate themed sequences choreographed to music. Yukata-clad crowds fill both the Tokyo and Ichikawa (Chiba) viewing banks, creating a festive atmosphere with food stalls lining the riverside.
